Schluter-certified craftsmanship. Conditional manufacturer coverage.
Prosperity describes its installer as Schluter-certified. The manufacturer—not Prosperity—determines eligibility and coverage under the applicable written warranty. We explain the requirements so you can make an informed decision.
Specify a qualifying system
Eligible Schluter assemblies may include the Schluter-Shower System, KERDI, DITRA or DITRA-HEAT, as defined in the applicable warranty. Products must form a qualifying installation—not simply include one Schluter-branded item.
Use the specified Schluter mortar
The lifetime thin-set system warranty requires appropriate Schluter SET, ALL-SET or FAST-SET mortar at the required bonding layers, including membrane-to-substrate and tile-to-membrane, following the current product instructions. A mortar meeting an ANSI standard alone does not automatically qualify for lifetime coverage.
Install correctly and retain records
The assembly must comply with Schluter’s written installation instructions and applicable industry standards. We recommend authorized dealers and retaining itemized receipts, product details and installation records. Certification alone does not establish warranty eligibility.
Register within 90 days of installation
The lifetime thin-set system warranty requires registration or submission of proof of purchase to Schluter within 90 days of installation—not 90 days from purchase. Confirm the applicable form and requirements directly with Schluter, and keep your confirmation.
Document heated-floor testing
DITRA-HEAT installations have additional testing and documentation requirements. Record and retain the heating cable test results required in the current installation handbook and applicable warranty; do not assume mortar selection alone covers every electrical component.
The questions worth asking.
Does non-Schluter mortar always mean a 10-year warranty?
No. Standard coverage varies by product and system; some systems have a 10-year warranty and DITRA-HEAT has separate 15-year system terms. Non-Schluter mortar does not qualify for the lifetime thin-set extension merely because it meets an ANSI standard. Confirm the exact assembly and current written warranty rather than assuming one universal term.
Does “lifetime” mean everything is covered forever?
No. This is a limited manufacturer warranty with eligibility rules, covered defects, exclusions and claim procedures. The applicable document defines the covered system and warranty period. It is not an unconditional promise for every surface, product, future owner or type of damage.
Does an installer certificate automatically qualify my project?
No. Training and experience matter, but coverage depends on the actual assembly, approved materials, installation compliance and timely documentation.
What should I keep after installation?
Keep itemized purchase receipts, system and mortar details, installation dates, registration confirmation, and any required heated-floor test logs. Follow the manufacturer's maintenance instructions and written claim procedure.
This is a plain-language overview, not the warranty contract. Current Schluter written terms control. Confirm your specific system, component coverage, exclusions and registration requirements before purchase or installation. No additional Prosperity lifetime workmanship warranty is represented here.
